Cohn & Wolfe fattens up with dollars 2m plus in new accounts

NEW YORK: Cohn & Wolfe has won two new consumer and two new

international corporate accounts in the past two weeks, collectively

worth more than dollars 2 million. On the consumer side, the agency will

relaunch two snack food brands.

Four to five staffers will work on events for Pepperidge Farms'

oversized cookies, and the agency will mount a cause-related campaign

targeting preteens for the relaunch of M&M Mars' Kudos chocolate bar.

C&W beat out Porter Novelli and Earl Palmer Brown for the Kudos relaunch

and is currently pitching for account work on M&M Mars' Skittles

C&W also beat out Ketchum to be the first agency to represent Aventis'

corporate arm. The French pharmaceutical and agriculture company was

created in December 1999 by the merger of Hoechst AG of Germany and

Rhone-Poulenc SA of France. The merged company announced in November

2000 that it plans to divest its activities in agriculture to focus on

C&W, which already handles Aventis' Allegra and Arva drugs, as well as

its new e-business arm, will position the company as a leader in

e-commerce for the pharmaceutical industry. Seven to eight people in

C&W's corporate tech practice will work on the account.

Finally, in what is slated to be a dollars 1 million account by the end

of the summer, C&W beat out four other firms to help RWE, a German-based

multi-utility company, to enter the US market. Eight staffers will be

assigned to the account.

"We've been pitching for weeks and it has been gratifying to get these

positive results," said C&W CEO Donna Imperato.
