Linhart nabs dollars 2.5m account for CO DoT

DENVER: The Colorado Department of Transportation (DoT) has picked

Denver firm Linhart McClain Finion to handle a five-year, dollars 2.5

million safety campaign that includes PR, advertising and interactive


Linhart won the assignment over incumbent agency Peter Webb; Praco and a

Colorado office of Alexander Ogilvy, said Dan Hopkins, PR director of

the department. By law, the department must rebid its PR work every five


Linhart teamed up in its bid with Denver agency Explore Communications,

which will handle design, media and advertising services for the


A third firm, 23airmail, was also part of the bid and will handle

interactive services.

The department RFP drew nine written proposals in March. Four finalists

were selected to deliver oral presentations in April.

Linhart will work on safety campaigns for auto seat belt usage, to

prevent drunk driving, to educate younger drivers about road safety and

to prevent aggressive driving.

It will also handle PR related to department road construction projects,

getting the word out on construction delays, alternate routes and best

times of day to avoid construction tie-ups.
