H&K to tout bone drug worldwide

NEW YORK: Hill & Knowlton must have been drinking its milk lately.

The WPP-backed agency has picked up its second global win in two months

with an osteoporosis drug.

The company was selected to represent Actonel by the Alliance for Better

Bone Health, a partnership formed by Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals

and Aventis Pharma.

H&K will handle strategic communications in the 44 countries where the

drug is marketed. They include the US, Europe, Brazil and Japan. The

task is to promote awareness, prevention and treatment of the bone


Kathy Cripps, executive managing director at H&K's US health and pharma

practice, will lead the account. A budget has not been disclosed.

The agency also picked up major global business from tech firm Marconi

in May.
