Cisco signs as FeedRoom's first 'TV station'

NEW YORK: The FeedRoom, a broadband news company, has launched

Enterprise FeedRoom, a new product that brings a company's broadcast

media products together under one site.

Cisco is the first company to launch a site with FeedRoom, which can be

accessed at, or via Cisco's own newsroom Web


"When you think about it, every company is a media company, possessing

video, audio, and PowerPoint slides," said Jon Klein, FeedRoom's

president and CEO. "We essentially built a TV station for (Cisco CEO)

John Chambers."

Cisco's site includes four "channels" that feature different programs,

including one dedicated to interviews and presentations by John

Chambers, and others focusing on innovation, executives and industry


FeedRoom worked with Cisco's corporate communications team to create

original content for the site and to take all the company's original

video and repackage it.

FeedRoom was founded in 1999 by Klein, formerly an executive vice

president with CBS News. The company has created broadband news sites

for NBC, Tribune Broadcasting, The Journal Broadcasting Group and

Granite Broadcasting.

Klein said a strong editorial team differentiates FeedRoom from other

hi-tech companies. "There are a lot of streaming media companies out

there, but they are technologists without editorial help," he said.

"Corporate communications is too important to be left to amateurs."
