AUSTIN, TX: Former Texas governor Ann Richards will open a New York
City office later this summer for Austin public affairs powerhouse
Public Strategies Inc. (PSI).
Richards officially went on PSI's payroll this past Saturday and will
spend the coming weeks preparing for PSI's Manhattan debut, said PSI
managing director Elyse Yates. The firm is expected to announce other
heavy-hitting hires and affiliations this week for a senior advisory
council that will oversee PSI's entry into New York and European

Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand.
This move will reunite her with PSI founder Jack Martin. While employed
by then Sen. Lloyd Bentsen in 1982, Martin orchestrated a Democratic
sweep that won Richards her first statewide elected office, that of
