Blanc moves up as H&K evaluates tech

NEW YORK: Fresh from folding in its newly acquired Promarc Agency,

Hill & Knowlton has been tinkering with its internal tech hierarchy.

Maureen Blanc, co-founder of Blanc & Otus (acquired by H&K in 1999), has

been given a seat on the worldwide executive committee. She's also been

handed the title of H&K's acting director, worldwide technology


Blanc has the "acting" title while the WPP-owned firm evaluates whether

it needs both an international and a US tech practice chief.

Greg Spector has also stepped up as president/CEO of B&O, replacing

Jonelle Birney, who moves sideways to become an EVP and strategic


PRWeek's hi-tech rankings, published August 14, 2000, show H&K ranked

ninth with revenues of dollars 25.3 million in 1999, compared with

dollars 3.2 million in the previous year, thanks in part to B&O's
