NEW YORK: Ogilvy PR Worldwide has snatched Felicia Vonella, former
VP of investor relations for TheStreet.com, to become SVP, investor
Ogilvy's top IR post has been vacant since John Lovallo left to become
EVP of corporate and IR at Weber Shandwick in May. (PRWeek, May 21.)
Vonella, who said the two-month leadership vacuum has easily allowed her
to take charge of Ogilvy's five-person New York IR group, also said her
immediate goal will be to increase IR promotion to existing Ogilvy PR
clients. She also plans to attend PR pitches to promote IR to potential
PR clients. IR on its own, Vonella said, is not enough.
"A mere IR program doesn't do a company justice if you want to turn your
corporate brand into shareholder value," she said. "You need a solid PR
program, strategic employee communications, and the ability to get
people excited about your business, especially in this market."
