to head up Alexander Ogilvy's LA operations, Mike Garfinkel has
resurfaced with a new gig.
Garfinkel, who resigned from Alexander Ogilvy in April after the firm's
downsizing, has joined Santa Monica boutique Murphy O'Brien as an EVP

"The reason I decided to join here rather than somewhere else is that
this firm is absolutely committed to and actually growing its tech
practice rather than contracting in this area like so many other
agencies these days," he explained.
Garfinkel cited three new tech clients worth an estimated $500,000 in annual fee revenues that have signed on with Murphy O'Brien

In addition to technology, Murphy O'Brien represents a wide variety of
consumer clients, including See's Candy, the Pebble Beach Company, and
Century Plaza Hotel & Spa.
