Kupper Parker is open in Chicago

CHICAGO: Kupper Parker Communications has opened a three-person

Chicago office to handle IR work.

Steffi Kitzes, formerly with Morgan-Walke, and Chris Dever, formerly

with the Financial Relations Board and the ill-fated Divine

Interventures, are running the new operation, said Bruce Kupper,

chairman of the St.Louis-based firm. Kupper sees an opportunity to do IR

work in a larger financial market for St. Louis clients, and also

believes he can pick up new business in Chicago.

BSMG/FRB has long dominated the Chicago IR scene, but with the departure

of FRB's IR guru Ted Pincus and uncertainty as to how the reorganization

of Weber Shandwick Worldwide - which now owns FRB - will affect local

operations, the Chicago market could be ripe for new entrants.

Citigate recently bought a Chicago shop, MSI Strategic Communications,

and Magnet Communications is actively searching for purchases in the

Windy City as well.
