LAST CALL: Mother Teresa's in one devil of a tale

The reputation of Mother Teresa may have been imperiled last week,

when it was revealed that she had received an exorcism a year before her

death. Archbishop of Calcutta Henry Sebastian D'Souza told the Agence

France Presse that she had been exorcised while in the hospital for a

heart condition.

Now, the exorcist himself has come out to refute that Mother Teresa was

possessed by the devil. Father Rosario Stroccio told AFP that she was

"not at all possessed by devils."

Media outlets questioned whether this news would jeopardize her

candidacy for sainthood. "I think it could actually help her ... there's

the theory that the very holiest are subject to attack by Satan," said

Amanda Bower, for Time magazine on CNN. Hey - there's no such thing as

bad PR, right?
