LAST CALL: All roads traveled to tell PR exec tale

Heidi Taff, the IABC's PR manager, may work in San Francisco, home

of such automotive delights as the Bayshore Freeway and Lombard Street.

But by using the information superhighway on the computer and public

transportation in real life, she managed to pitch herself into two major

media outlets.

Leafing through Profnet requests, Taff found a New York Times request

for people who met on public transportation. Since she had met her

boyfriend on CalTrain, the two were naturals.

Not only did Taff land a pic of herself and her boyfriend on the front

page of the Times' "Workplace" section, but Inside Edition soon came

calling with the same story idea. In June, the now-semi-famous Taff and

her boyfriend were interviewed for a September-slated edition of the

news magazine show.

PRWeek not only congratulates Heidi on her PR prowess, but also on

keeping her man at her side despite an occupation that often has long

hours with little social time.
