NEW YORK: PRWeek has started on its quest to find the industry's
Student of the Year.
The prestigious award, designed to attract, encourage, and reward future
talent, is open to all students matriculating between November 2000 and
October 2001.
Working in partnership with the world's largest PR agency, Weber
Shandwick Worldwide, PRWeek has devised an assignment to test the
contestants' abilities in a range of core PR skills (see p. 6 for more
details of the assignment).
Once the applications are evaluated, five finalists will be selected,
flown to New York, and asked to make a live presentation to a panel of
judges. The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize, and a paid
internship with WSW.
The winner will be announced at the 2002 PRWeek Awards ceremony on
February 21 at the prestigious Tavern on the Green in the heart of New
York's Central Park.
Previous Students of the Year include Sarah Mast and Elizabeth Lundeen,
who both landed several successful internships before being snapped up
full time by BSMG.
