NEW YORK: Omnicom has reported third-quarter results showing net
income and revenue up by around 8%. The conglomerate, which owns PR
agencies Fleishman-Hillard, Porter Novelli, Brodeur, and Cone
Communications, reported net income at $92.4 million, up from
$85.7 million. Worldwide revenue was $1.57 billion, up 8%,
with international growth stronger than domestic. Third-quarter figures
for overseas business were up 9% to $739.9 million, compared with
$676.8 million for the same period in 2000, while domestic
revenue for the third quarter was up 7% to $831.1 million.
