Indianapolis: Eli Lilly, maker of the blockbuster drug Prozac, has
solicited RFIs from several healthcare agencies for future product
launches currently in the pipeline.
Although the pharmaceutical giant would not discuss the products
involved, Eli Lilly is expected to launch three drugs in 2002:
Atomoxetine (a treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder),
Duloxetine (for depression), and Cialis (a potential blockbuster drug
that will go face-to-face with Viagra as a treatment for erectile
dysfunction in men).
"For us, this is a routine part of business," said Jeff Newton, director
of marketing communications for Eli Lilly. "We're at the point now where
we're ready to move on to the next phase."
The company said that it was not actively seeking pitches from agencies
that it hadn't already approached.
