LONDON and PHILADELPHIA: Pharmaceutical giant Glaxo-SmithKline's
global corporate PR chief Geoff Potter is stepping down after 30 years
with the company.
Potter will leave at the end of the month, handing over the role of SVP,
corporate communications and community partnerships to current IR boss
Jennie Younger. She will oversee a team of 60 based in the US and the
UK.
The role is the top PR post, reporting directly to GSK CEO Dr.
Jean-Pierre Garnier, in Philadelphia.
Duncan Learmouth, the current VP of IR, will take over as head of the IR
department.
Potter said changes to GSK's agencies are unlikely, following the
overhaul as a result of of the merger between Glaxo Wellcome and
SmithKline Beecham earlier this year.
