SAN FRANCISCO: Publicis Dialog has been named as agency of record
for FranklinCovey, the motivational publications and consulting
company.
Famous for Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and
Franklin Planners, the company offers a range of training tools in time
management and effectiveness to professionals and corporations.
FranklinCovey wants to focus on name recognition and building awareness
of its 170 retail outlets that sell its related products. "We want to
herald not just our intellectual property, but the tools that support
that," said Debra Lund, director of public relations. The company
previously retained Shandwick in New York.
"The pitch was focused on their target markets," said Kevin Patsel,
executive principal and MD of PR for Publicis Dialog in San Francisco.
"There was nothing really over the top. It was strategic and mapped to
what they are trying to achieve as a business objective."
Patsel added that FranklinCovey's message has even more resonance in the
post-September 11 market. One of the core programs of the company is
"What Matters Most," based on the book by Hyrum Smith that helps people
set priorities and achieve balance in their lives. "That's what really
hits at the core of what people are thinking about now," Patsel said.
