COLUMBUS, OH: Lord, Sullivan & Yoder (LSY) has won a $750,000, three-year assignment to handle PR for the Ohio State
University Health Systems.
The contract marks the first time the systems have taken on one agency
to handle PR work. For the past five years, LSY had handled PR for the
Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital, one component of the systems.
Other parts of the systems include the OSU Medical Center, the OSU
Hospital East, and the OSU Health Network.
In addition to the PR work, LSYdigital, LSY's interactive arm, also won
a $1 million, four-year assignment from the systems to handle
their web work.
LSY beat out Gerbig, Snell/ Weisheimer, a local ad agency with PR
capabilities that had handled advertising for the systems in the past,
to win the $250,000 annual PR assignment for the next three
LSY will put four or five people on the account, handling media
relations, employee communications, special events, event planning, and
cause marketing, said Neil Mortine, president and CEO of LSY's PR
"This is our biggest win this year," said Mortine. "It will be among our
top five accounts."
LSY has annual PR income of about $4.1 million.
"LSY brought extraordinary experience in the community, and was able to
understand and bring valuable counsel to our promotional services," said
Pegge Ledingham, OSU Health Systems' administrator of marketing and
Mortine said past LSY work with the cancer hospital helped in winning
the new contract.
