Deadlines got you down?
Take heart - a new study from Ohio State University says deadlines are
probably good for your health.
Better than stringing garlic around your neck, an OSU researcher says
handling stressful situations such as trying to meet a deadline can
actually strengthen your immune system. What the researcher calls
passive stress, however, things like watching a violent TV show, weakens
the immune system.
"Our findings lend scientific truth to the idea that a hassle a day
keeps the doctor away," said Jos Bosch, lead author of the study.
So next time a client or your boss hits you with what seems an
impossible deadline, thank them for helping you fight off those nasty
winter-time germs.
