The effects of September 11 on the PR business have extended to
counseling clients on what sort of gifts are appropriate this holiday
season.
Luke Haase, principal of The Intelligence Agency in Traverse City, MI.
is telling his clients to think philanthropy when it comes to holiday
gift-giving. He's suggesting holiday cards bought from charities and
gifts purchased from the American Red Cross online gift shop. But he's
stopping short of recommending cancellation of the office Christmas
party. Rather, he suggests a moment of silence or a flag raising.
"Thousands lost their lives, and the country is at war. We are
suggesting that now is an important time to demonstrate good corporate
citizenship and sensitivity," Haase said.
