LAST CALL: Cowboys kick up public awareness of Salvation Army

Medialink, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Salvation Army continue to

give "kick the can" a whole new meaning.

For the fifth year running, the Cowboys and the Salvation Army held

"National Kettle Kick-Off," a nationally televised, halftime event

during the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game. Medialink produced a

three-hour SMT from Texas Stadium in which top Cowboys and Salvation

Army brass were available to the media for interviews. The goal was to

raise awareness of Salvation Army services and to encourage Americans to

keep helping people in need throughout the country.

If you're more likely to mentally leap from the idea of Salvation Army

kettles to Cowboy tight ends - remember that the Salvation Army provides

food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and

shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children,

relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, and many more

services for those in need. And, when considering your holiday
