NEW YORK: Sports and leisure PR agency Alan Taylor Communications
has added Hollywood Tans to its client portfolio, becoming the
seven-year-old tanning salon's first agency of record.
David Rahn, CFO of Mt. Laurel, NJ-based Hollywood Tans, said the company
waited for proof of the success of its business model before deciding to
hire a PR agency.
"We had several firms come in and make a pitch," said Rahn, who added
that Alan Taylor will introduce new products, as well as promote the
Hollywood Tans name. "Part of the task is going to be working for the
franchises, and getting their names out in their individual territories
or towns so that in local markets, people will hear about Hollywood Tans
in their area."
Alan Taylor EVP Mark Beal said that five executives of the agency's
50-person staff would be assigned to the Hollywood Tans account.
Beginning next year, the agency will promote new product Instant Tan, a
mister for people who cannot tan, or are under doctor's orders to avoid
exposure to UV light.
"Were excited, because we're going to be the first ones out of the gate
to tell the Hollywood Tans story," said Beal.
Other Alan Taylor clients include NASCAR and several US Olympic
sponsors.
