As we all know, getting teenage boys to think about something other
than sex is next to impossible, so health officials in New Mexico are
trying some strong medicine.
A new state-sponsored PSA shows a pregnant teenage girl ... and a
pregnant teenage boy. The tagline: "It's Your Baby Too!" The idea: get
teenage boys to think more about the consequences of casual sex.
A group of teens came up with the ads, and the state is spending a
$2.5 million federal grant to back the new program with the
overall theme "It's Your Choice," that includes radio PSAs and
billboards.
Sounds like the next PR campaign to launch in New Mexico might be for
bath accessories to sell to all those teenage boys who see the new
posters and start taking a lot more cold showers.
