CHICAGO: Rick Murray, former head of Golin/Harris' now-defunct
CrossMedia unit, has moved to rival Edelman, where he's starting a new
practice called "brand experiences."
As an EVP and director of the practice, Murray will bring together
meeting production, event creation, and exhibit work that Edelman has
done in the past from a variety of offices and practices. Murray will
report to Nancy Ruscheinski, president of Edelman Chicago.
"We'll expand through Chicago and the consumer operations," working with
existing and new clients to create events, Murray said.
For the time being, Murray is the only employee in the new
brand-experiences area, and so will draft help from throughout the
agency as needed. As business develops, he expects to hire new
staff.
Murray lost his spot at CrossMedia in May, and the unit ceased
operations in August.
