Reno gets VA Dem for run at Jeb's job

RICHMOND, VA: Mo Elleithee, transition spokesman for Virginia

Governor Mark Warner, has been picked to manage former US attorney

general Janet Reno's bid for Florida governor. Reno is trying to oust

first brother, Governor Jeb Bush.

Elleithee, at 29, has never managed a statewide campaign, but was chosen

because of his work on the successful bid by Democrat Warner in a

traditionally Republican state.

A native of Tucson, AZ, Elleithee was spokesman for Sen. Charles Robb's

failed re-election bid against George Allen (R-VA). Before joining Robb,

he was chief press aide during Bill Bradley's New Hampshire presidential

primary in 2000. In 1998, he was deputy campaign manager for Rep. Tom

Udall (D-NM).

TV reporter Ellen Qualls will become Governor Warner's new press

She covered state government as Richmond bureau chief for WDBJ-TV, a

Roanoke, VA station.
