CLEVELAND: Wyse Landau Public Relations has recaptured a
high-six-figure account with Mead's school and office supplies division
after losing the business about two years ago.
In 1999, Mead bought At-A-Glance, another company making school and
office supplies, and consolidated its PR business, dropping Wyse Landau.
It renewed contact with the agency three months ago.
Dayton, OH-based Mead, a $4.4 billion paper and paper products
company, was itself involved in a merger last year with Westvaco, a move
that caused it to review all operations, including use of PR firms.
Mead has no single PR agency of record, but works with Citigate Sard
Verbinnen on IR. Mead's eight operating units select their own PR
agencies, though Mead has a corporate PR staff of six.
