INTERNATIONAL NEWS: Former FRB head opens own shop

CHICAGO: Michael Rosenbaum, former Financial Relations Board

president, is opening his own firm to go after IR, employee

communications, and general marketing assignments.

Rosenbaum intends only to pursue project work for his new firm,

Rosenbaum Advisors. He'll pitch his services to corporations, as well as

PR firms looking for outside IR capabilities. He also plans to help

companies search for agencies of record.

"What clients really need today is surge capacity in IR and PR," he

said.

"The project model is one that needs to be explored in the

marketplace."

Rosenbaum helped build FRB into an IR superpower during his 18 years

there. He was named president in 1997, and remained in that post after

the firm was bought by BSMG in 1999. He left the agency last July.

The new agency will be serviced by a team of four, who will work with

Rosenbaum on an as-needed basis.
