TBC hits jackpot in promoting The Price is Right's Las Vegasspecial

BALTIMORE: Classic CBS game-show The Price is Right celebrates 30

years on the air on January 31 with a special edition taped at Harrah's

Rio in Las Vegas. This is the first time the show has been taped any

where other than Hollywood.



To accompany the spectacle, Trahan, Burden & Charles (TBC) Public

Relations will handle the PR to build excitement for the anniversary

special that will feature emcee Bob Barker and his "Barker's Beauties,"

show models Claudia Jordan, Heather Kozar, and Nikki Ziering. TBC is

Harrah's PR agency of record.



The show was taped last week and more than 900 tickets - three times a

regular show audience - were given away. Without divulging any secrets,

the prizes doled out will be the largest ever given in the game's

history and include sports cars, luxury cars, boats, and exotic

vacations.



Dave Curley, SAE, said the agency will release a VNR showing the crowds

lining up for tickets, as well as a media relations campaign to gaming

trade publications and entertainment shows. The account team also

negotiated with CBS to do promos for the one-hour special.



The relationship between Harrah's and The Price is Right began last May,

when TBC handled the introduction of a new Price is Right slot machine

at the Rio.
