LAST CALL: Cone ladies carry torch for Olympics

If it feels like PR people are perpetually either giving, or

getting, the "runaround" for their clients, then check out this story

from Cone.

Three Cone staffers - Patricia Hurley, Nikki Korn and Amy Sticco - were

selected to help carry the 2002 Olympic torch on its traditional epic

run. The trio was picked by Cone client, Chevrolet, because the PR team

has helped the 91-year-old car maker's campaign to stop violence among

the teen-and-under set through the company's non-profit partner, the

National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere.

"It all started to become real just as we started running," said

Hurley.

"There were a lot of amazing people chosen to run, and we were proud to

be among them."

Hurley added that her 0.2 mile portion of the torch's 13,500 mile

journey has the potential to be a life-changing experience: "It inspired

me to run more," she said, explaining that more pavement-pounding time

in her sneakers was her New Year's resolution.
