Microsoft targets Hispanic markets with aid from GDB

CORAL GABLES, FL: Microsoft is making a concerted effort to tap

into the burgeoning Hispanic small-business market, and has retained

mid-size PR firm GDB & Partners to help.

A series of educational and networking events, entitled "Build Your

Business," will be held in Miami, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, New

York, and San Antonio. The meetings are designed to demonstrate the

potential impact PC and internet technology can have on Hispanic-owned

businesses.

The desire to connect with the Hispanic audience, GDB managing partner

Seth Gordon explained, is based on simple demographics.

"The use of technology in African American- and Hispanic-owned

businesses is significantly lower than businesses in general," said

Gordon. "Our PR goal is to reach those business owners, and explain to

them what Microsoft is offering by attracting their attendance at events

where they can learn how to use technology in general, and

(specifically) Microsoft products to improve their business."
