AMP now offering flat-rate PR services

WASHINGTON and NEWARK, CA: Package pricing for PR services, a trend

first reported in PRWeek late last year, has accelerated. Virtual PR and

marketing agency Albrycht McClure & Partners (AMP) has now joined the

flat-rate bandwagon.

Jennifer McClure, AMP partner, said the firm was inspired to offer

several services for a set price by cash-poor clients seeking help with

just one initiative.

"They just want a launch, they just want to get a story out; but they

don't have the resources for more," said McClure.

So far, AMP has sold the package to Canadian venture Yo.net and Colorado

Springs, CO-based SAGE Results. Ken Webb, SAGE president, said six

national agencies responded to his RFP, but that he hired AMP for its

packaged prices. He said his professional and technical services firm

benefits from knowing what its marketing bill will be each month.

"With marketing being so nebulous, it was nice to find something

concrete," Webb said. "My initial perception was that the package would

be too rigid, but they've been very flexible."

Minneapolis firms LaBreche Murray and Padilla Speer Beardsley were early

adopters of fixed-rate PR. Both launched similar services last year

(PRWeek, October 29, 2001).
