sign on his BMW.

"Judy always says you should fight for what you believe, and I did," said Rosen, after the ticket was dismissed. Though, he confided, the TV judge had counseled him to plead guilty.

Rosen was ticketed last November for having the sign in the window of his 1995 BMW while it was parked at a meter on Lincoln Road. But he found a legal loophole, so he entered court recently clearly having seen too many Perry Mason episodes, prepared to make a lengthy opening argument, call witnesses, and wring a tearful confession of error on the witness stand.

Instead, before he could speak, the charges were dismissed. Rosen stood there dumbfounded until the judge gently asked if he had another ticket he wanted to argue about.
