Tired of hearing about Oscar? The Academy Awards is the talk of Tinseltown for power players, but for those with a shorter attention span, the real excitement was last week's Golden Trailer Awards, honoring the "two-minute minor opusthat lures audiences back for the feature film and gives marketing mavens their own chance to stand at the acceptance podium.
While The Royal Tenenbaums was the best comedy-teaser trailer and Memento won the drama category, the real award in our opinion is the "Golden Fleece
for the trailer that best promotes a not-so-hot movie. This year's recipient was The Business of Strangers, the Stockard Channing-Julia Stiles thriller that even a good trailer won't help you remember.
Other notable winners include Series 7 for Trashiest Trailer of the Year. In case you missed it, this action adventure took reality TV to new levels, detailing the life of an eight-months pregnant woman trapped in a TV show where the contestants try to kill one another - sort of Survivor meets Lord of the Flies. What, you missed it?
