How long have you been in your job? One month.
Describe the space you work in We all affectionately refer to our cubicles as "The Ghetto,
which has recently been repositioned as "Avalon at Ghetto Place,
after a former real estate client.
Who is the smartest person you work with? Come on ... I just got hired. I'll stay away from that one until I'm here a bit longer.
Who is the craziest person you work with? I guess that depends on how you describe crazy. Beckdog's kind of crazy, especially when she gets a little alcohol in her. I have also heard some pretty good stories about the summer softball season, which seems to transform normally mild-tempered coworkers into crazy people.
What is the best thing about working there? The coffee machine and the choice of flavored coffee. I never even drank coffee before I came here. Oh, and I am pretty pumped about summer hours. I'm counting down the days until May 28.
What is the worst thing? The elevator ride up to the 22nd floor still makes my ears pop, and the ride down makes me sick because it stops on every floor.
What's been your biggest mistake while working there? Besides breaking the hi-tech coffee machine (to which there were luckily very few witnesses), I'd have to say meeting Ted Schwartz, senior partner, in the elevator for the first time. I was leaving work sometime around 5:30 with Gene, my account supervisor, and "the guy that always wears a bow tie.
As we make our lengthy descent to the first floor, we begin discussing how terrible the ride always is and making bets on how many times the elevator will stop before we get to the ground floor. In my excitement to enter the conversation, I say, "I'm usually out of here much earlier than this, and the elevators aren't so bad then.
The man in the bow tie tilts his head and says, "Most people wouldn't say that to a senior partner."
What is the biggest thing to hit your office in the past year? The "America the Beautiful - A Hair Raising Experience
event for Mario Tricoci salons.
You might remember in December when Chicago area firefighters dyed their hair blonde in an effort to raise money for families of the fallen firefighters in New York.
We had very short notice, but we managed to pull it off nicely.
