LAST CALL: Abovo has new recipe to woo clients

Schmoozing clients over drinks is an old trick, but sending the bar supplies through the mail just might be a new one. Atlanta tech shop Abovo is serving up Marketinis, Buzzy Navels, and more with its new client prospecting kit.

Schmoozing clients over drinks is an old trick, but sending the bar supplies through the mail just might be a new one. Atlanta tech shop Abovo is serving up Marketinis, Buzzy Navels, and more with its new client prospecting kit.

The creative mailer includes a giant martini glass, a jar of olives, a glass skewer with an olive ornament, and a set of six coasters in the firm's signature colors with retro graphics and bar recipes with a PR twist. The back-side of each coaster offers pithy narrative of the firm's marketing prowess, specifically tailored to complement the drink recipe on the other side. Our favorite is the Competitive Screwdriver offering "a 100 proof punch that boosts both revenues and market value."

Firm EVP Sami Jajeh said they wanted to showcase how they address serious problems in a not-too-serious, yet creative way, but with utility (i.e. the coasters and barware).

Packages were sent to Atlanta-based tech companies where M&A hangovers abound. Good thing a coaster with the Bloody M&A recipe is included.

Sadly, the postscript on the accompanying cover letter said the booze wasn't included because, "Hey! We're no bootleggers!"

"That's kind of like 'batteries are not included,'

says Jajeh. "If they sign with us, we'll provide the liquor."
