CLIFTON, NJ: Collegiate Presswire (CP) - a partner of Business Wire dedicated to distributing news to college media - has launched a new product, CP Connect. Designed to facilitate communication between student journalists and PR professionals, CP Connect is based on an embedded internet link in the headline of all CP's releases.

Prompted with an internet-based form, journalists can request follow-up calls from publicists, press kits, photographs, and interviews. "This is a tremendous time-saver for students, said Matthew Farlie, co-founder and director of business development for CP.

"It helps journalists who typically work non-traditional hours to still be able to communicate with publicists. Sometimes students do not start working on the school papers until after 5pm."

PR professionals are provided with contact details and preferences on how and when journalists prefer to be contacted, should the visitors choose to disclose the information. "For clients, it helps them to build their contact base by showing who is interested in what stories, said Farlie. "Accessing the embedded links demonstrates another tier of interest."

The official rollout of CP Connect is scheduled for late August to coincide with the beginning of the school year.
