WASHINGTON: Cassidy %26 Associates, Weber Shandwick Worldwide's DC-based government relations unit, has forged an alliance with Mexico Business Development (MBD), a lobbying and public affairs shop in Mexico City.

WSW has offices in Mexico, though none with the capacity to satisfy the needs of Cassidy's clients, said Gerald Cassidy, chairman and CEO. "Clients need direction when doing business in Mexico, and MBD offers a full-service line of public affairs and government relations capabilities, he said.

MBD's president, former Mexican ambassador to the US Jesus Reyes-Heroles, hopes Cassidy can open doors for his clients in Washington.

Cassidy added, "Mexico is experiencing an impressive turnaround economically and in its political development. And nobody has a better reputation than the ambassador."
