NEWS IN BRIEF: Medialink files lawsuit

NEW YORK: Medialink has filed a lawsuit against Katie Paine, founder of the company's research division, Delahaye Medialink. Upon leaving the company, Paine's contract prohibited her from entering any business arrangements that would directly compete with Delahaye. Medialink filed suit because it felt that by Paine starting an online newsletter, The Measurement Standard, she was in violation of the contract. Paine will argue that she offers an entirely different service than Delahaye, and that she is appealing to a different demographic. The hearing is scheduled to be held on June 28 in New York Federal District Court.
