ATLANTA: Fletcher Martin Ewing (FME) has won the hotly contested $3 million Georgia Cancer Awareness and Education assignment from the State Department of Human Resources. The win transforms FME into a top-10 player in Atlanta.

FME did not outscore its two closest competitors - Prospect Associates and Hayslett Sorrel - on the technical merits of its pitch, but it significantly outscored all agencies in the manner it proposed to allocate the budget.

The assignment is to educate the public on cancer risks, early detection, and treatment services; promote behavior modification; and position the state as a center of excellence in these areas to foster economic growth.
