How long have you been in your job? Nearly three years.
Describe the space you work in. Schenkein's office is on the 12th floor of a downtown Denver building. My office isn't exactly Feng Shui - there's a large plant in a corner, some awards hanging on the wall, and one of those really classy singing fish that our CEO gave me. I've got products and media kits from clients stashed here and there, and a large photo of the Rat Pack playing pool. Coors Field is just outside my window.
Who is the funniest person you work with? A young lady by the name of Kate spills her water glass on her desk at least once a week. She sits just outside my office, and it's pure comedy every time. I'm getting her a sippy cup for her birthday.
What is the best thing about working there? The people. This is, without a doubt, the hardest-working firm in the PR business. But there's a good work-life balance here. We work hard and play hard, and many of us share the same interests.
What has been your biggest mistake while working there? Describing my recent wedding as "clean to my coworkers during a staff meeting. Most of our staff is female, and they were horrified that I didn't use words like "beautiful or "romantic - which it most certainly was. By saying "clean, I meant that it went smoothly and without a hitch (that's the event planner in me). They still give me grief about that.
What is the most exciting project you have worked on recently? To promote a client's new toothbrush, I coordinated a world-record-breaking event at Coors Field that had more than 1,500 baseball fans brushing their teeth simultaneously. It was a riot. Toothpaste, water to rinse, spit cups - the works.
If you could do your job from any location, where would it be? Somewhere in the South Pacific where the water's warm. Fiji's Tavarua Island would be nice, although the surfing might distract me from getting in a 40-hour work week.
What is one thing about you that none of your coworkers know? I secretly want to be the next Frank Sinatra.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Performing to a packed house at Caesar's in Las Vegas.
