We've all heard about Amtrak's financial woes, but at least a few SoCal trains were packed with paying customers last Saturday, trying to get a peek at some bare-bottom cheeks during the annual Moon Amtrak Day.
Seems a fellow named "KT was celebrating his birthday 23 years ago at the Mugs Away Saloon in Laguna Nigel, CA, when he got what some think is a great idea. He offered a free beer to anyone who would go with him to the nearby Amtrak line and moon a passing train.
The event has grown to where more than 5,000 folks come from as far away as Japan, with a website (www.moonamtrak. org) chronicling the affair.
And while there is no point to the drawer-dropping, it draws the press as well as any good nudity/alcohol combo ever does.
Amtrak takes the event in stride, even slowing down trains so all paying passengers can get a good view.
Good for ticket sales and fun to watch. We say "bottoms up!"
