NEW YORK: After just a year at the helm, Bob Jones has resigned his post as CEO of FD Morgen-Walke. The firm is not planning to refill the CEO post.
"It wasn't an easy job steering the firm through a period of great transition, said Charles Watson, chairman and CEO of FD International. "I have nothing but the greatest respect for him. The departure comes just three weeks after the agency was rebranded as part of parent company Cordiant's FD International network of financial communications firms.
FD Morgen-Walke will undergo a management reshuffle, with senior MD Doug Sherk becoming CEO of West Coast operations, and MD Anton Nicholas rising to senior MD and COO of East Coast operations.
Jones' departure nearly completes an exodus of the firm's top brass that began shortly after Morgen-Walke was acquired by UK-based marketing concern Cordiant in mid-2000, when Cordiant purchased Morgen-Walke's former parent Lighthouse Global.
Following that acquisition, both of the firm's founders, Lynn Morgen and David Walke, left the firm. Their departures were followed by the exits of four MDs, including Terrence Rooney, Naomi Rosenfeld, Michele Katz, and Betsy Brod.
Sherk is now the only MD who remains from when Jones was appointed CEO of Morgen-Walke in the summer of 2001.
