MediaMap ups its offerings via new database launch

WATERTOWN, MA: MediaMap has launched its own database of media content to be included as part of MediaMap Online, a press-contact management tool designed to help PR agencies and corporate communications departments. Named North American Media, the new database replaces the data originated by Bacon's that Media-Map previously offered.

WATERTOWN, MA: MediaMap has launched its own database of media content to be included as part of MediaMap Online, a press-contact management tool designed to help PR agencies and corporate communications departments. Named North American Media, the new database replaces the data originated by Bacon's that Media-Map previously offered.

"The main difference between our own database and the one we were using through Bacon's is the depth, quality, and frequency of updates," claimed Ruth Habbe, MediaMap EVP.

The new offering includes 175,000 journalist contacts at 45,000 print, broadcast, and online media outlets, as well as details on each contact's background, preferred method of communication, and beat. MediaMap Online with the North American Media content costs $2,350 for a one-year package.

The company's forthcoming Performa Communications Management suite will eventually phase out MediaMap Online, as all clients will be automatically updated beginning next month. "A greater focus on analytics, measurement, and distribution, according to Habbe, is what will distinguish Performa from MediaMap Online.

A standard Performa package will automatically include North American Media data and will cost $4,995 per year. Habbe said premier Performa packages will also be available at a higher cost.
