WASHINGTON: Stratacomm, a specialist in transportation public affairs issues, is putting together a communications program for Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM), a nonprofit coalition that promotes responsible drinking at sporting and concert venues.
The program is run by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, and is supported by most of the major sports organizations, such as the NFL, Major League Baseball, and the NBA.
The Washington-based PR agency is helping raise the profile among stadiums and other venues to institute a TEAM training program. The plan is to help vendors and concessions recognize fans who have had too much to drink, and learn how to handle such situations. The campaign also hopes to encourage other professional sports organizations, such as NASCAR, to join the program.
