SAN FRANCISCO & LOS ANGELES: Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has appointed Clay Hausmann as MD of the San Francisco and LA offices. He replaces Kate Messenger, who left to "take time off" from PR, said Hausmann. She did not go to another agency, he added.
"I want to work to maintain the level of quality we offer our clients," said Hausmann, who will oversee operational management, and provide strategic direction for both offices. "Right now, a lot of agencies are just concentrating on how to win new business. But I want to make sure we continue to service our clients the best we can."
That doesn't mean Hausmann won't pursue new clients. He said he wants to go beyond hi-tech clients, especially in the San Francisco office.
He pointed to recently signed accounts such as Quiksilver Entertainment and the William Morris Agency as part of a growing effort to diversify Ogilvy's client roster.
"Having Clay manage the San Francisco and LA offices is a perfect example of promoting great talent from within," said Marcia Silverman, CEO of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. "I look forward to Clay continuing to build and strengthen our West Coast presence."
Prior to this position, Hausmann served as SVP and group director of the tech practice in San Francisco for two years. He has also worked at Connors Communications, Porter Novelli, and Edelman Worldwide.
