ATLANTA: Ris Cowan, managing director of Weber Shandwick Worldwide's Atlanta office, has been let go after less than two years at the struggling outpost.
The news was confirmed by Ken Luce, CEO of WSW Dallas, who also oversees operations in Atlanta. He will take over Atlanta operations until a replacement is found.
"The commitment from Weber Shandwick to grow this market is a very serious one," he said. "The Southeast, and Atlanta market in particular, is one where we have enormous potential, and one that has not been adequately tapped."
WSW has never had more than a dozen Atlanta staffers. In an interview last May, Cowan lamented that he was struggling with limited talent and resources. He said the office had been shut out of several RFPs because it was not big enough.
