MIAMI: The Jeffrey Group has spun off PubTracker, its monitoring, tracking, and analysis service for Latin American media. It is now available to non-clients.
Headquartered in the US, PubTracker will run as its own company, though it will be initially co-staffed by the 40 employees that currently staff The Jeffrey Group in Latin America.
The only monitoring service dedicated solely to Latin American media outlets, PubTracker provides clients with digital images of hard-copy clips. "Many Latin American publications are not available online," explained Jeffrey Sharlach, president and CEO of The Jeffrey Group and PubTracker.
"There also aren't as many key media outlets, so placement becomes very important. It is necessary for our clients to see an actual copy of where they appeared."
The system also provides evaluation and analysis of clips to measure results across multiple countries. "There is often more to the story than just the text of a clip," said Sharlach.
When it was still being offered to Jeffrey Group clients only, Compaq, Kodak, FedEx, British Airways, and Nintendo used PubTracker to monitor placements. Sharlach said the services will continue to be recommended to Jeffrey Group clients, but hopes business will expand by making PubTracker available "to those who don't need our normal agency services."
