CHICAGO: Edelman has nabbed another big piece of Unilever business, becoming the agency for the Dove brand.
Michelle Holland, Unilever's US PR director for home and personal-care brands, confirmed the Edelman selection, noting it will bring Dove's US and Canadian PR under one agency.
New York-based M Booth & Associates had the account for the past nine years, but Unilever has consolidated its PR this year.
Dove is one of Unilever's biggest US brands, selling more than $376 million in the year ended September 8. Dove shampoos and conditioners will likely make their US debut in 2003 with a $50 million budget.
Dove also recently inked a deal with Bally's Total Fitness to become the exclusive sponsor and provider of personal-care products at Bally's 400 US and Canadian fitness centers.
