Everyday is Halloween at Eastwick Communications, which sent us this lovely card to mark the firm's favorite holiday. The Redwood City, CA-based firm has also been known to send out Halloween cards for Christmas.
Yes, the bewitched b-to-b tech practice was named after the 1988 film starring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
On learning that the three female principles were starting a firm in 1991, an industry friend teased them, calling them "The Witches of Eastwick."
"It just kind of stuck," said principal Barbara Bates - no relation to Norman. "Pretty much from the beginning, our clients referred to us as the witches."
But they seem so nice.
The agency pulls out all the stops for Halloween. Costumes are mandatory - this year's gala featured Sonny and Cher, along with a Martha Stewart in horizontal pinstripes - as is a screening of their namesake film. The firm also indulges in scavenger hunts and pumpkin-carving contests.
And as for those cards, they have become collector's items among clients, Bates says.
Like all firms, Eastwick likes to boast that it can work magic for its clients, but with those broomsticks in hand, these guys look like they really mean business.
