NEW YORK: FD Morgen-Walke (FDMW) has formed a global life-sciences practice that will coordinate the efforts of account executives in its Boston, San Francisco, and New York offices. The team's coverage areas will include pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, drug discovery, women's healthcare, and bioscience venture capital.

The group's current clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Amersham, Smith & Nephew, Shire Pharmaceuticals, Alcon Laboratories, and Watson Pharmaceuticals.

SVP Leslie Wolf-Creutzfeldt will lead the new Life Sciences practice.

Although the agency is primarily known for its work in investor relations, it has been pushing heavily into the media relations arena in recent years.

"While IR remains an important part of our business mix in the US," said FDMW COO Anton Nichols, "we have definitely moved to more of a full-service model that includes a very strong corporate communications practice."

Earlier in the year, the firm formerly known as Morgen-Walke announced a network partnership with London-based firm Financial Dynamics, which operates under the FD International network of PR agencies. Financial Dynamics and FDMW are both owned by UK-based marketing company Cordiant Communications.
