Domino's new lead comms role raises talk of possible IPO

ANN ARBOR, MI: Domino's Pizza has created the new position of EVP of communications and investor relations, and has hired Lynn Liddle to take up the reigns.

In December 1998, a group of investors headed by Bain Capital bought a 93% stake in the company from founder Thomas Monaghan. Since Domino's therefore has relatively few investors requiring "relations" at the present time, Liddle's appointment and title has raised speculation that an IPO may be in the pizza company's future.

Holly Ryan, a spokesperson for Domino's, told PRWeek, "We have nothing to announce at this time."

Liddle, who will be reporting directly to chairman and CEO David Brandon, was previously VP of IR and PR at Valassis, a marketing services company in the Detroit area whose core business is coupon books that are distributed in local newspapers. During her tenure there, according to Domino's announcement, Liddle "led internal and external communications during Valassis' initial public offering" in 1992.

Reporting to her will be Tim McIntyre, Domino's VP of corporate communications, along with four other managers.
